The Hydroponic Farming Initiative at the Azraq Education and Community Fund continues to create opportunities for education, skills development, and sustainable food production in South Azraq. This year, 25 mothers participated in practical hydroponic training, learning different techniques and systems for growing and managing crops more efficiently. The training was delivered twice a week over two months, providing participants with practical skills they can apply at home and share with their families and the wider community.

With generous support from Westport Sunrise Rotary and Skagit Rotary, AECF also upgraded its hydroponic system by installing a new cooling system, including fans, sensors, cooling pads, tanks, pumps, and an electrical control panel. The upgrade helps maintain optimal temperature and humidity, improving plant health and productivity throughout the year, even during Azraq’s extreme heat.

The improved system also makes the farm easier to operate and maintain, reduces manual labor, and creates stronger hands-on learning opportunities for students. Through the initiative, AECF continues to promote sustainable agriculture, practical skills, food security, and environmentally responsible farming practices within the community.
